CCT May Colour Challenge

Hello! It's a colour challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown and it's an unusual one...

I made my card using SU's Pretty Pines Thinlits. There is actually gold card behind one of the pine cones but the photo hasn't picked it up. The washi tape is gold too. Lots of fun to make and interesting to use these dies with colours of cardstock that you wouldn't usually think to use! We are looking forward to seeing your interpretations of this colour combo. Ahoy There!

A nautical card from me today! Inking up bits of cardstock to resemble pieces of wood has been my obsession of the week. I used a Gina K tutorial that you can find here.

The sailor guy here came free with a magazine. It's really bugging me that as I type this I realise I haven't coloured in his chest. If I was a perfectionist I would have to re-do this photo. Sadly I am not, so you will have to imagine it's cold on deck and he is wearing his thermal vest...or it's so cold he is gradually turning into a block of ice!

My card was inspired by a few wonderful challenges. The sketch is from Sunday Stamps

The colour scheme is for the Favourite Colour Combo challenge at Cards in Envy. I have chosen turquoise, red and shades of brown.

Last but not least, my card is quite snippety, so it is sailing through the gates at Pixie's Snippets Playground!

Here are my other 'woodgrain' cards of the week!

They are lots of fun to make as they involve nothing more technical than a scoreboard and swiping an ink pad around. Sadly I was too over-enthusiastic with the 'swiping' and have temporarily broken my Sahara Sand inkpad! :-)

Happy crafting! April x

CCT May Sketch Challenge

Hello! We have a sketch challenge for you at Christmas Card Throwdown brought to you by our lovely hostess, Lucinda -

The perfect excuse (if you need one) for really going to town with all those festive layers! I've used lots of bits of leftover dsp combined with some punched holly leaves, ribbon and sequins. Lots of fun to make! I do hope that you will join us there, April x

In the Meadow

Hello! Here is a card made with the lovely In the Meadow stamp set. I did some masking with a Post-it note and a bit of brayering. The colours are Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate and Early Expresso, with some gold sequins and washi tape thrown in too! There was also some additional stamping on the background using Timeless Textures.

I was inspired to make this card by the theme over at The Male Room which is 'Many Legs', so I thought I would enter these eight legs! Happy Friday! April x
