CCT February Technique Challenge

Hello! At Christmas Card Throwdown we have a technique challenge for you!

This is a great technique for tackling that mountain of patterned paper (what do you mean, you don't have a mountain of patterned paper??)

I used a wonderful tutorial by our very own Patricia Hays. You can find it by scrolling down this post from Splitcoast Stampers. I'm not usually a fan of techniques that appear to require mathematical precision, but this really doesn't, it is very easy and straightforward!

We can't wait to see your cards! April x

My card is super-snippety so I am sending it to Di and Parsnip at Pixie's Snippets Playground!

Delicate Details

Hello! Today's card uses Delicate Details, a Saleabration stamp set that you can get free with any £45 order. In our weekly email that demonstrators receive from Stampin' Up there was a fabulous card made using this technique. You simply combine the stamped lace edgings with any die or punch you fancy. Very easy and effective!

Now the colour combo I have used here isn't one I would have thought of, but it does give my card a bit of a tropical feeling I think!

I'm entering my card in this week's colour challenge over at the Global Design Project. So many beautiful cards there!

This card is certainly the only tropical thing around here at the moment, but grey and miserable February weather is great for card-making! April x

CCT February Theme Challenge

Hello! We have a theme challenge for you at Christmas Card Throwdown. We would like to see your cards related to the theme of...

Can be any drink you can think of! Christmas cocktails, glass of mulled wine, hot chocolate with marshmallows, or even a festive cup of tea! This lovely set of dies retired from last year's SU spring catalogue and many people lamented the fact that there wouldn't be a Christmassy version of stamps to go with them. So I thought I would have a go at making them into a festive card. I quite like how Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand make my teapot and cup look a bit like Utility Ware!

This card was a lot of fun to make and very appropriate considering I like to drink my own body weight in tea!! We look forward to seeing your festive tipples! April x

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello! I was very excited to get this new dragonfly die and fabulous hexagon embossing folder. I embossed the card twice - first with the hexagons, then with the Softly Falling embossing folder. The leaves are a snippet from a larger rose die-cut rescued off the floor! The Glimmer Paper was such a tiny snippet that if you look carefully you can see that it doesn't actually extend down the whole dragonfly!!

He is fluttering off to Di and the little white peril at Pixie's Snippets Playground. Happy crafting! April x
