Panda Love

Hello! I haven't posted anything in ages as horrendous flu kept me from crafting. I did manage to make a couple of Valentine cards for my husband and daughter when I was finally on the road to recovery.

This cute panda clutching an envelope is another of the Party Panda Saleabration stamps. In my weakened state I needed a super easy and quick card! I die-cut a heart from a piece of scrap card and then used a sponge dauber to create a pink, inky background. Then I stamped some details on top of the heart with the same ink (Powder Pink). To complete my card, I just needed to add my panda, a sentiment and a couple of sequins!

I would like to send my panda valentine over to Cards in Envy where the current theme is 'Give it Some Heart'.

Happy crafting! April x

Heartfelt Blooms

Hello again! I thought that I would show you this amazing stamp today. It is called Heartfelt Blooms and it's a new type of stamp from Stampin' Up called 'Disinktive'. It lays the ink down in different opacities to create greater depth and gives an amazing photorealistic look to your stamping.

This is unbelievably a one-step stamp and when you first use it you do look at it with a bit of a double-take because it looks as though there's not much there to stamp with! However as soon as you start to add colour with your inkpad (and a swiping action combined with a bit of a tap seems to do the trick) the image magically appears.

Even more amazing, is that this lovely stamp set that includes three sentiments is absolutely FREE with orders of £45 (excluding p&p). Your order can include products from either the annual or spring catalogues and it is very easy to order directly from my website. It looks fabulous in so many different colours, but I have gone with Dapper Denim here. I hope you like it! April x

Party Pandas

How cute is this little guy with his balloon?

I love Party Pandas and the best news is that they are FREE with any £45 order from the annual or spring catalogue (excluding P&P).

Here is one of the party animals combined with Tranquil Tide cardstock and Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. I've used paper piecing for his balloon. I could have coloured it, but I quite like the solid appearance of the paper (from Colour Theory Designer Series Paper Stack).

I really enjoyed making this card and I'm looking forward to making a whole array of panda-themed creations!

Saleabration Suggestions

Happy New Year! Do you remember the fortune cookie scene from Mickey Blue Eyes? I think it's one of my favourite film scenes, so when I saw this stamp set in the new Spring catalogue I had to have it!!

Of course the most fabulous thing about this time of year is that it's now Saleabration which means getting free products. This card uses two Saleabration items - Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper and Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes. For every order of £45 you can choose a free product from the Saleabration catalogue. There are also new rewards for orders of £90 too.

This card is the first of my 'Saleabration Suggestions' with shopping lists and bundle ideas included!

If you ordered the 'Fortunate to Know You' clear mount set, Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper, Combo Stampin' Blends in Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral, a Bronze Stampin' Blend (for the chopsticks!) and a pack of Whisper White cardstock, your order would cost £48.75 so you could choose either the DSP or the cards and envelopes as your free Saleabration products.

Assuming you already have a Bigshot, you could add Layering Circles Framelits, Lemon Lime A4 cardstock, Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals (these raise up the fortune cookie!) to your order. This would cost an additional £46.75 and would mean that you would get both the DSP and the card set free. I know it sounds a bit like one of those Facebook memes that ask why spend £1 on a mass-produced shop card when you could spend £95.50 on the card above, but of course you can make so many more cards, gift boxes, tags, photo albums from your Saleabration haul (and it's lots of fun!)

I'd like to enter my card into the challenge over at SU! Only Challenges where the theme is Brrr! Baby It's Cold Outside and you are asked to include something you think of when it's cold. Now bear with me here, but I tend to think of takeaway food when it's freezing outside. A mental connection I know I need to break (I have kept to my New Year healthy eating resolutions so far!)

Happy crafting! April x

Delicate Details

Hello! Today's card uses Delicate Details, a Saleabration stamp set that you can get free with any £45 order. In our weekly email that demonstrators receive from Stampin' Up there was a fabulous card made using this technique. You simply combine the stamped lace edgings with any die or punch you fancy. Very easy and effective!

Now the colour combo I have used here isn't one I would have thought of, but it does give my card a bit of a tropical feeling I think!

I'm entering my card in this week's colour challenge over at the Global Design Project. So many beautiful cards there!

This card is certainly the only tropical thing around here at the moment, but grey and miserable February weather is great for card-making! April x

Display Stampers Submission

Hello! This is my entry for Stampin' Up's Display Stampers. I have made three greeting cards, two 3-D items and a scrapbook layout. I hope you like them! I certainly enjoyed making them :-)

Starting off with something fishy...this card was made using the Friends and Flowers stamp set and co-ordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch. The fish were stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White cardstock and I cut the frame and panel in Pool Party cardstock, using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. I then added the detail of the bubbles by punching circles of Dazzling Diamonds with the Owl Builder Punch and covering the larger ones with Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers. The 'With Love' sentiment is from 'You're So Sweet' and I have tied Basic Black/Mint Macaron Baker's Twine around the inner panel.

A really quick and simple birthday card! I used the lovely Balloon Celebration bundle to stamp and cut balloons in a combo of Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride with a couple of balloons in silver Glimmer Paper adding a touch of bling. The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut using the Washi Label Punch. I wonder where that stray balloon is drifting off to?

I love tropical colours often seen with the Botanical Builder Framelits, but for my first play with this gorgeous set I wanted to try a very different colour combination - Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Real Red and Smoky Slate, with a few small blossoms in Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. The Designer Series Paper I have used is from the Go Wild stack and I have backed the blooms onto a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack. The sentiment is from the very versatile Saleabration stamp set, Sky is the Limit.

Back to Friends and Flowers for my first 3D item, as I love this very versatile stamp set. Cucumber Crush meets Bermuda Bay for an Easter Bunny treat box! Shine On Speciality Designer Series Paper makes a great base for the box, which was cut using the Fry Box Bigz L die. I have added leaves in Cherry on Top DSP and Bermuda Bay cardstock flowers cut with an Itty Bitty Accents punch. The banner is a cocktail stick wrapped in Cherry on Top washi tape with Bermuda Bay sequin trim and linen thread. The Easter sentiment is from Circle of Spring and is stamped on a banner cut from Cucumber Crush envelope paper.

A big birthday box for stuffing lots of presents in! I have used the Cherry on Top Designer Paper stack, combined with a big bow tied with Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim. The banner tag combines the Pretty Thankful stamp set with a sentiment from Circle of Spring.

Finally, my scrapbook layout which is a traditional 12 x 12 page celebrating Chinese New Year. I wanted to include a card pouch to hold the lucky money envelope that my daughter is clutching in the photo! I used Botanical Builder Framelits to cut the detailing at the top of the pouch and to make the cluster of flowers. My colour combo is Basic Black, Real Red, Tip Top Taupe, Calypso Coral and gold Glimmer Paper with sequins. This choice combines lucky Chinese colours with colour elements of the dragon.

I hope that you've enjoyed my Stampin' Up projects. I'm now itching to start my swaps for Telford! April x
