52 CCT Stash Challenge

Hello! Today the new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown is a stash challenge.

The reindeer with his array of baubles is a digi from A Day for Daisies. I've coloured him using Crumb Cake Blendabilities and for the baubles I used Spectrums. I've added some bling with some In-colour sequins. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and the paper is Merry and Bright by Pinkpaislee. The cardstock is Melon Mambo and I also sponged the edges of the Starburst die-cut with Melon Mambo ink. I hope you like it! Please join us at 52 CCT and be inspired by the great cards made by the rest of the design team. April x

Gelli Stars

Hello! My latest craft addiction is my Gelli plate - how did I last so long without one? The stars were cut from prints that had been made using three colours of acrylic paint. I then did some faux stitching around the larger stars using a Tim Holtz distress marker (Weathered Wood). The kraft card is stamped in silver ink with SU's Gorgeous Grunge and I've added some sequins and Glimmer Paper stars for extra bling. Hope you like it! April x

I'd like to enter my card in the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.

Mother's Day Card

Although I make lots of cards for workshops, challenges and design team stuff, I never seem to have the right card for real life occasions! I have been more organised this year and I definitely thought I would get (slightly) ahead of myself and make a Mother's Day card for my Mum.

I'm entering this in the Colour Me challenge because I felt inspired by the colour combo of Pool Party, So Saffron and Real Red.

What a great choice of colours! I have used drops of Pool Party re-inker on a chevron embossing folder. It was spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Pearl) and watercolour paper placed on top. I have stamped the blossoms in So Saffron and Real Red using SU's Flower Patch. Finally, I added the sentiment and a few pearls. I really like the subtle colour scheme combined with the touches of Real Red. April x

52 CCT Theme Challenge

At 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week we have a theme challenge of sequins and pearls. I have gone for a rather minimalist take with a Marianne snowflake die-cut made from Stampin' Up Confetti Celebration dsp. I have combined it with Basic Grey and Bermuda Bay cardstock and a few silvery sequins. There are lots of pearls there, but you do have to look rather closely!!

I hope very much to see you over at 52CCT. The design team have created some fabulous cards to inspire you. Happy Crafting!

Fairy Dog

Continuing with a theme of sparkly animals, here is a lovely glittery fairy dog from A Day for Daisies. His wings are covered in Cosmic Shimmer and he's standing in it too! I have added some stars in silver glimmer paper and sequins for extra bling. The paper is Marianne Victorian Vintage.

I am entering this doggy in the following challenges:

ADFD February Challenge

Party Animal

Here is a last gasp entry for The Friday Mashup. Who can resist farmyard animals with party bling? Well I can't, that's for sure! Here is a calf resplendent in her pink tutu (edged in pink sequins, darling!) and striped legwarmers. She is definitely all ready to party.

The cute digi stamp is from A Day for Daisies and I do think she is one adorable party animal! April x

Bunny Love

How cute is this bunny? He is a digi from A Day for Daisies. I love him! I've coloured him with pencils and stuck him on some pieces of Stacked With Love dsp. The cardstock is Crisp Cantaloupe, a retiring colour I will be sad to see leave. I used the Scallop tag topper punch and added some Baker's Twine. The cute sentiment is from Good Greetings. April x

I am entering the bunny in these challenges:

Cards in Envy - Hearts all a Flutter challenge
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge

52 CCT Colour Challenge

Over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown we have a colour challenge this week - a lovely, subtle combination of white, silver and grey.

My walrus relaxing on ice beneath a snow-filled and starry sky is from Fawn Lawn's Arctic Critters. I have stamped him in Smoky Slate and made his tusks and nose glisten with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The ice is stamped in silver and the card is actually quite sparkly. Unfortunately, the SU Moonlight dsp perfectly matches the sky today, which makes taking photos a bit of a challenge. I feel a bit like an Arctic critter myself! Have a lovely Valentine's Day and do please join us with your festive creations over at 52CCT, April x

Stencils and Snowflakes

This is my entry for Craft Stamper's Take It Make It Challenge for February. This month it's all about the stencils. I started off with a broken glass stencil and created a background with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass Distress Stain and a variety of Stampin' Up inks. I then used a Marianne die-cut of a snowflake to stencil through, but I ended up liking it so much, I stuck it on the finished card! I like how it has picked up the gesso and Cosmic Shimmer that I also stencilled on the background. I stamped some snowflakes in black Stazon and SU Smoky Slate using Stampin' Up's Snowflake Soiree. I also used Gorgeous Grunge and embossed the ink splatters with Rainbow Black embossing powder. I hope you like it! April x

A Scribbly Heart

I have had a wonderful time with my new Gelli Plate today! Lots of interesting backgrounds were produced and even prints that don't work out how you expected can be used for all kinds of papercrafting.

The background was printed using acrylic paint and bubble wrap. The brown paper came from a parcel that was delivered today. It was ripped up in desperation because I couldn't find enough paper to feed my Gelli addiction. It still has sellotape attached! I drew on the scribbly heart with a Sakura Graphic pen and added some dots. Finally I stamped in gold ink with Stampin' Up's Gorgeous Grunge and added some washi tape.

I am entering my card into the Mixed Media Card Challenge #8

My card looks pinker in real life! April x

Another Valentine Card

Here is another Valentine card - this time for Addicted to Stamps challenge #130. I felt inspired by their choice of colours, so have used Regal Rose, Strawberry Slush and Chocolate Chip. I made the background by adding ink to a chevron embossing folder, spritzing with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist and making a print with a piece of watercolour paper. The heart stamp is one I carved myself using the Stampin' Up Undefined set and the sentiment is from Good Greetings.

52 CCT Sketch Challenge

We have a fantastic new sketch over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and here it is!

You can use any shape or embellishment for your card. I have flipped my embellishment to suit the prancing reindeer! He is a lovely Marianne die cut and I have added some glitter to his antlers and flank with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I cut some Stampin' Up Typeset Speciality Paper with a Framelit Label die, sponging the edges to create a vintage effect and stamped some tiny silver stars. The greenery is a Sizzix die and the holly berries are rhinestones coloured with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities. The sentiment is from Ornamental Pine and is cut using a Project Life die. Everything is stuck onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the SU Argyle embossing folder.

I hope that you will visit us over at 52 CCT and share your festive creations. Happy Crafting! April x

A Valentine Card

Here is a Valentine card that I'm entering in the I (heart) card sketches w/a twist no. 96 challenge. The cute owl is a From the Heart digi stamp called Owl Love - perfect for my owl obsessed daughter! I have coloured the stamp with pencils and sponged the background. The handmade embellishment included in the sketch is a clear epoxy heart sticker with Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I have used a Basic Grey card as my base and added some patterned paper from a magazine and a strip of washi tape. Happy Friday! April x
