Inky Musings
I am very excited to have started Jeri Parks' texture class at CourseCraft. I thought I would blog about my progress as I go along, as a way of recording the samples that I have made.
We have started with the ghosting technique. I have had such a wonderful inky morning making these tags! The first one was made with a Hero Arts Ombre inkpad. I just spattered water from my fingers on this one.
I love the second tag because it reminds me of vintage enamel. This was created using a SU Cucumber Crush inkpad with the water spritzing from a spray. The last one was made using Strawberry Slush and a SU heart stencil. No baby wipes to hand, so I used a makeup remover wipe which worked really well!
It has been so lovely and therapeutic to just mess around with ink and learn new things! Happy Friday! April x

Another Valentine Card
Here is another Valentine card - this time for Addicted to Stamps challenge #130. I felt inspired by their choice of colours, so have used Regal Rose, Strawberry Slush and Chocolate Chip. I made the background by adding ink to a chevron embossing folder, spritzing with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist and making a print with a piece of watercolour paper. The heart stamp is one I carved myself using the Stampin' Up Undefined set and the sentiment is from Good Greetings.

A Technique and Sketch Challenge
I love this technique! This week's technique and sketch challenge at The Friday Mashup! 180 calls for the marble rolling technique. My background is gently rolled with Pool Party re-inker. The flowers were cut from a more frenetically rolled mixture of Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush. I love the scribbly effects you can produce and rolling marbles around in re-inker is very therapeutic! April x

By the Tide
A little herd of seahorses! I had to google the collective noun. I have used a Crushed Curry card base with some Eastern Elegance dsp. You can't really see them, but there are lots of silvery 'bubbles' made with Dazzling Details. I think these little fellows look as though they know where they are going! I have sponged the background and used resist embossing. No sentiment, because I thought it clashed with the script, so I have stuck that inside. Hope you have had a lovely weekend, April x
