Huge Gift Bag

Hello! Once again my blog posting has been woeful... However, today I felt inspired to make this huge gift bag, after finding a great tutorial here.

This bag takes up two pieces of 12" dsp, which is fabulous when you are trying to work your way through a paper mountain like I am. The lovely black and white paper is retired SU, but I have added a tag made with the Merry Moose bundle. It all looked a bit dark and miserable until I dotted the trees with a white Gelly Roll pen. I'm really pleased with the end result and I am determined to not buy gift bags in the future!!

Moose coloured snippets and old cord were deployed, so I am saying a big hello to Di, Parsnip and lovely Dudley over at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

CCT Colour Challenge

Hello! We have a colour challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown for you this week.

Now I may be hosting this challenge but I didn't actually choose the colours, so it made me go hmmm! The closest I had colour-wise was SU's Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Tim Holtz's Twisted Citron. I'm really pleased with how it turned out! I have of course used that old favourite - Lovely as a Tree for the image.

Looking forward to seeing your cards! April x

52 CCT Pick a Previous 2016 Challenge

Hello and welcome to the last challenge of the year at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. For our December challenge you can choose any of our previous challenges - sketch, colour, theme, technique or stash - from 2016. We have lots of exciting changes coming up at 52CCT! We will also be announcing the new members who are joining our DT team very soon.

Here is my take on the theme challenge back in April - Christmas Foliage. I created a wooden 'shelf' with SU's Hardwood stamp, then made a bunch of foliage using the fabulous Pretty Pines Thinlits.

We can't wait to see your Christmas creations!

Happy festive crafting! April x

52 CCT Pick a Previous Theme Challenge

Over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, we have a 'Pick a Previous Theme ' challenge for you. You just need to select a theme from the Archive tab. I have chosen Rudolph/ Reindeer from June 2014.

My Rudolph (he has got a tiny little red nose!) is a Hunkydory stamp. I coloured him with Copics and gave him a little diamante collar! Fussy cutting was an error. We nearly lost an antler!!

I do hope you will join us! April x

52 CCT Colour Challenge

Over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown we have a colour challenge for you. Tanja has chosen kraft card, combined with your favourite Christmas colours.

I have decided to go with white ponsettia, using a stamp by Clearly Besotted. I have stamped the flowers on kraft card and coloured them with pencils. I then fussy-cut them and added Cosmic Shimmer to the petals. The sentiment, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and dotty embossed background are all Stampin' Up.

I do hope that you will share your krafty Christmas creations with us! April x

52 CCT Sketch Challenge

We have a fantastic new sketch over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and here it is!

You can use any shape or embellishment for your card. I have flipped my embellishment to suit the prancing reindeer! He is a lovely Marianne die cut and I have added some glitter to his antlers and flank with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I cut some Stampin' Up Typeset Speciality Paper with a Framelit Label die, sponging the edges to create a vintage effect and stamped some tiny silver stars. The greenery is a Sizzix die and the holly berries are rhinestones coloured with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities. The sentiment is from Ornamental Pine and is cut using a Project Life die. Everything is stuck onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the SU Argyle embossing folder.

I hope that you will visit us over at 52 CCT and share your festive creations. Happy Crafting! April x

A Valentine Card

Here is a Valentine card that I'm entering in the I (heart) card sketches w/a twist no. 96 challenge. The cute owl is a From the Heart digi stamp called Owl Love - perfect for my owl obsessed daughter! I have coloured the stamp with pencils and sponged the background. The handmade embellishment included in the sketch is a clear epoxy heart sticker with Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I have used a Basic Grey card as my base and added some patterned paper from a magazine and a strip of washi tape. Happy Friday! April x

CHNC Joy to the World

Here is my entry for CHNC Challenge 213.

The Joy to the World stamp came free with a magazine and I stamped the wreath twice with Pistachio Pudding and Old Olive. I then embossed a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the SU Argyle embossing folder and added a bow made from Cherry Cobbler chevron ribbon. I hope you like it! April x

52 C.C.T. Technique Challenge

Here is my DT card for this week's challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

I absolutely love this technique. You die-cut a shape, repeat with a contrasting colour and then fit it back into the sheet of paper or card that you cut the original from. A little bit fiddly with the 'Merry' from Stampin' Up's Expressions Thinlits, but I love the flush effect that you get. I have kept this card very simple because I think this technique can really stand on its own. I have also inlaid a couple of stars in silver Glimmer Paper that I cut with the Stars Framelits and the dsp used is from the Trim the Tree stack. I do hope that you will give this great technique a go and I hope to see you soon over at 52 CCT! April x

52 C.C.T. Theme Challenge

The challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week is to make a card using the theme of bells.

The retired Stampin' Up set Bells and Boughs is perfect for this challenge and I decided to make a suitably vintage style card to complement these lovely stamps. I have used a Crumb Cake card base with the Thinlit Circle Card die. I coloured the bell design with markers and added champagne Glimmer Paper stars and rhinestones coloured with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities. I do hope that you like my card and that you will join us over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown for lots of festive inspiration! April x
