52 CCT Technique Challenge
Hello! It is my last week of hosting the February challenges over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and we have a technique challenge for you.
I've always loved stencilling since I was a child. I think there is something quite magical about the process! I didn't really plan my card (you can probably tell!) I just enjoyed messing about with a lovely Dina Wakley stencil and a pile of Distress Inks (Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover, Mermaid Lagoon and Blue Print). The inky background is a mixture of Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Stains.
You are very welcome to make your stencilling the focal point of your card, or as a background feature. Either way, I hope you will join us! Happy Saturday! April x

Xanthine
My first card of 2016! I was inspired by a playground visit to have a go at the Butterfly Challenge The theme there is 'X is for Xanthine' - the yellow colouring found in some plants.
My butterfly is from SU's Watercolour Wings, stamped in Daffodil Delight, Summer Starfruit and Delightful Dijon. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and was a snippet left over from making a tea light box. I stencilled the background with Daffodil Delight and added some yellow rhinestones - although they haven't shown up yellow at all!
It was nice to make a cheery, bright card on such a grey day (especially as we are in the rather stressful midst of homework left to the last possible day!) My flutterby is off to perch on Parsnip's head at Pixie's Snippets Playground. I hope his mum is having a rest after such a busy Christmas!

Mr Meow Meow
Oh I love this guy! When Brett Weldele's Mister Meow Meow and Tweets McGee arrived today, I had to start stamping straight away. He's a bit like one of my own fur babies, but I can't get mine to wear a bowler hat and a shirt and tie sadly...
I have used an old snippet of SU dsp to stamp and stencil on. I also sprayed Cosmic Shimmer ink spray to create the background. I began with just two 'Meow' sentiments and then remembered that's actually the name of a drug, so I had to quickly stamp a load more! I coloured with pencils for a change today, which was nice. I just love this handsome feline fellow!
Mr M. is off to play with Di and Parsnip at Pixie's Snippets Playground. It's all quiet here, as my two feline partners in crime are having an afternoon snooze...
Happy crafting with cats, April x

Bunny Love
Hello! Here is a very cute digi from a Day for Daisies of a girl and her gorgeous, cuddly bunny. I have coloured them with Pro-markers which was pretty therapeutic! The background was stencilled on a left-over piece of Whisper White cardstock, using a lovely stencil from Dear Lizzy/American Crafts and Color Box Rose Coral ink. Have a lovely weekend! April x
I would like to enter my card in these challenges:

Stencils and Snowflakes
This is my entry for Craft Stamper's Take It Make It Challenge for February. This month it's all about the stencils. I started off with a broken glass stencil and created a background with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass Distress Stain and a variety of Stampin' Up inks. I then used a Marianne die-cut of a snowflake to stencil through, but I ended up liking it so much, I stuck it on the finished card! I like how it has picked up the gesso and Cosmic Shimmer that I also stencilled on the background. I stamped some snowflakes in black Stazon and SU Smoky Slate using Stampin' Up's Snowflake Soiree. I also used Gorgeous Grunge and embossed the ink splatters with Rainbow Black embossing powder. I hope you like it! April x
