Valentine Cupcake

Hello! Here is another Valentine card - this time a shaker card with sequins and Blushing Bride glimmer paper hearts. I did a tiny bit of paper piecing with a snippet of Strawberry Slush dsp and the cupcake frosting is Dazzling Details.

 I have used a really cute digi from A Day for Daisies, so I am entering my card in the ADFD Valentine Challenge. I am also sending it off to the Friday Mashup, where the challenge is to combine Valentine's Day with images of candy (yum!)

This is also my second entry for Cards in Envy - From the Heart, and last but not least, Parsnip can eat the loveheart off the cupcake at Pixie's Snippets Playground, which I think he will prefer to having kisses blown at him!

Parchment Craft

 

 

Hello! As part of my new year craft chat with 'Too Much Glue' Sam, I decided to try some new crafty things in 2016. This is my first go at parchment craft. Bit of a steep learning curve, as it demands lots of precision and patience - not really my strong points! So I am going for a less precise, lazier interpretation instead and will just have to hope for the best.

This little flower is A Day for Daisies digi and I did the colouring with Polychromos pencils. I also used a piece of pink glitter card and tried to tone it all down a bit by backing it on a Chocolate Chip card base.

Gaby Girl

Hello! For today's card I have chosen a fab digi from A Day for Daisies called Gaby Girl. I have made it for the ADFD Challenge - add black lace. Great, I thought. I have a brand new roll of black lace I bought during my last foray into the impressive craft section of a local garden centre. Where is it now? After frantic and totally fruitless searching in one of my craft black holes (yes, there are more than one) I had to make do by dabbing a snippet of Sahara Sand trim with some black Stazon.

Another thing that has disappeared into the ether is a brand new packet of red Glimmer Paper. The heart was punched from the tiniest snippet in the world, so I am sending Gaby to shake her tail feathers at Parsnip and Eve over at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

Last but not least, I would like to enter my card in Craft Your Passion - anything goes and Quirky Crafts - two colours.

A Pansy Sundae

I really enjoyed making this card with ADFD's Pansy Sundae digi. I made the background using one of my favourite techniques. You apply inks directly to an embossing folder, spritz with various sprays (in this case a pearlescent one and a violet Cosmic Shimmer spray) and then place a piece of watercolour paper on top to make a print. The digi has been coloured with Promarkers and sponged with ink. The flowers were cut from a snippet left over from my previous Flutterby.

Snail Mail

Hello! This sweet little snail with her garland of roses is a cute digi from A Day for Daisies. I would like to enter her in ADFD Challenge - Frame It! She started off in the frame... (really, she did!)

She's also off to adorn Parsnip with a rose headdress, so she's slithering off to Pixie's Snippets Playground. If she starts off now, she may make it there by the weekend :-)

She is also off to Incy Wincy.

A snippet of gold card was embossed to make the frame, along with a dsp snippet. Mrs Snail herself was coloured with Copics and Promarkers and she is on a Pistachio Pudding cardstock base.

I like how she is shedding roses as she goes! (wish our cats did that!) :-)

Pretty in Plaid

 

Hello! This rather glam digi is from A Day for Daisies. I love it! I really like how the little dog has a matching hair do with its owner. I have added a red plaid dress for the challenge over at A Day for Daisies - add some plaid.

 

I am also walking the dog into the playground (but not wearing those heels, even though they are lovely!!) and saying hi to Di, Sarn and Parsnip at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

 

Finally, I would like to enter my card at Cards in Envy. The challenge is 'Inspired by a song', so I am going with the traditional Scottish song  'The Tartan':

 

'There are hundreds of tartans so lovely to see,

And many a famous has graced the bare knee

And the kilt that I wear is both ancient and braw,

It's the pride o' my heart and the dearest of a'.

Disclaimer: I'm not Scottish, so not sure if the SU dsp I have used is actually a tartan as such! It's also not a kilt, but I hope you get the general idea! :-) April x

 



Curly Flower Fairy

I love this Curly Flower Fairy from A Day for Daisies. I really enjoyed colouring her with a mixture of Copics and Pro Markers. I cut the digi out using SU's Lots of Labels Framelits and stuck it to a piece of Heidi Swapp patterned paper. The challenge over at A Day for Daisies is to add sequins. I love sequins - I have sequin dies, sequin stamps and er... sequins. The stamp that I have used here is from Hello Darling - a retired SU set that I had to have because of the sequins! The real ones here are little gold critters from SU's sequin trim.

 

 

Of course, I am also sending my fairy off to the capable hands of Di (and the equally capable paws of Parsnip). I was so delighted that Di chose my card as one of last week's picks. One day I might take a photo of Snippet Mountain. It is so big that it is currently applying to be an E.U. member state. Unfortunately, the application is lost under a pile of patterned paper and inkpads...

A Little Birdie

 

Here is a cute little birdie digi kindly offered by A Day for Daisies. I would like to enter her in ADFD Challenge 127 - Add a Feather. The feathers were stamped using SU's Four Feathers and I've just added some snippets of patterned paper and a piece of chevron ribbon.

 

She is also flitting over the gate into Pixie's Snippets Playground and tweeting hello at Eve, Di and Parsnip!

52 CCT Colour Challenge

 

At 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week Patricia has chosen such a pretty colour challenge with pastel pink, green and yellow.

 

 I thought that these colours would be great for a Christmas tree fairy digi from A Day for Daisies. I had a great time colouring her with Promarkers and it was great to use a colour combo that you wouldn't usually associate with Christmas. I just added some Cosmic Shimmer to the fairy's wings and some Glimmer Paper stars to add a bit of sparkle. There's a few enamel dots too! I do hope that you will join us at 52CCT this week. I am a Princess

This lovely digi stamp is 'I am a Princess' from A Day for Daisies. I made this card for a little girl who will be four tomorrow. She is coloured with a mixture of Copics and Pro-markers. The background was embossed using a clouds embossing folder and I've added a few butterflies and some sequins for a bit of princessy bling, April x

Bunny Love

Hello! Here is a very cute digi from a Day for Daisies of a girl and her gorgeous, cuddly bunny. I have coloured them with Pro-markers which was pretty therapeutic! The background was stencilled on a left-over piece of Whisper White cardstock, using a lovely stencil from Dear Lizzy/American Crafts and Color Box Rose Coral ink. Have a lovely weekend! April x

Something Fishy...

A very cute mer-cat emerges from the depths of the sea. This gorgeous digi is from A Day for Daisies. It is going to be my daughter's birthday card, but I haven't put a sentiment on as I think it may end up in a frame. Much more sparkly in real life, this sea feline has been coloured with Pro-markers and Cosmic Shimmer. Sequins have been added for fish scales and water bubbles. The background is a mixture of Tumbled Glass Distress Stain and Coastal Cabana ink.

I would like to enter this kitty in A Day for Daisies Challenge - Add sequins.

Flower Fairy

I am breaking away from chocolate egg eating to post this fairy card! I'm certainly getting into colouring at the moment and I really love this fairy digi from A Day for Daisies. I coloured her with Pro-markers and added some Cosmic Shimmer to her wings. For the stamped background I used SU's retired Secret Garden and I've used Petite Petals for some extra blossoms.

Bunny Rabbits

This card is a 'portrait' of two real bunnies that belong to our friends. They are very sweet and are called Felix and Cinnamon. It is coming up to their human mum's 11th birthday and I thought that this cute digi  from A Day for Daisies perfectly fits the bill. The striped paper came with a magazine and I have added some Glimmer Paper stars to up the bling factor. The cardstock is one of my favourite retired SU colours, Primrose Petals. I hope you like it! 52 CCT Stash Challenge

Hello! Today the new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown is a stash challenge.

  

The reindeer with his array of baubles is a digi from A Day for Daisies. I've coloured him using Crumb Cake Blendabilities and for the baubles I used Spectrums. I've added some bling with some In-colour sequins. The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp and the paper is Merry and Bright by Pinkpaislee. The cardstock is Melon Mambo and I also sponged the edges of the Starburst die-cut with Melon Mambo ink. I hope you like it! Party Animal

Here is a last gasp entry for The Friday Mashup. Who can resist farmyard animals with party bling? Well I can't, that's for sure! Here is a calf resplendent in her pink tutu (edged in pink sequins, darling!) and striped legwarmers. She is definitely all ready to party.

Bunny Love

How cute is this bunny? He is a digi from A Day for Daisies. I love him! I've coloured him with pencils and stuck him on some pieces of Stacked With Love dsp. The cardstock is Crisp Cantaloupe, a retiring colour I will be sad to see leave. I used the Scallop tag topper punch and added some Baker's Twine. The cute sentiment is from Good Greetings. April x
