A nautical card from me today! Inking up bits of cardstock to resemble pieces of wood has been my obsession of the week. I used a Gina K tutorial that you can find
here.
The sailor guy here came free with a magazine. It's really bugging me that as I type this I realise I haven't coloured in his chest. If I was a perfectionist I would have to re-do this photo. Sadly I am not, so you will have to imagine it's cold on deck and he is wearing his thermal vest...or it's so cold he is gradually turning into a block of ice!
My card was inspired by a few wonderful challenges. The sketch is from
Sunday Stamps
The colour scheme is for the Favourite Colour Combo challenge at
Cards in Envy. I have chosen turquoise, red and shades of brown.
Here are my other 'woodgrain' cards of the week!
They are lots of fun to make as they involve nothing more technical than a scoreboard and swiping an ink pad around. Sadly I was too over-enthusiastic with the 'swiping' and have temporarily broken my Sahara Sand inkpad! :-)
Happy crafting! April x
