Petal Palette

Hello! Here is a card made using the lovely Petal Palette bundle. It was inspired by the challenge over at Global Design Project where you are asked to CASE a gorgeous card by Krista Frattin.

I was inspired by the sketch (although I have flipped it around) and the very pretty layering. I love the doily and have tried to include a similar effect with some die-cut vellum. I have kept to a simple colour scheme of Smoky Slate and Pool Party with a touch of silver from the sequins.
The vellum was a snippet and the Smoky Slate cardstock is my very last snippet of that colour (sob!) I am therefore sending my bunch of flowers to the Parsnip Piglet and Di over at Pixie's Snippets Playground. Happy crafting! April x

In the Meadow

Hello! Here is a card made with the lovely In the Meadow stamp set. I did some masking with a Post-it note and a bit of brayering. The colours are Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate and Early Expresso, with some gold sequins and washi tape thrown in too! There was also some additional stamping on the background using Timeless Textures.

I was inspired to make this card by the theme over at The Male Room which is 'Many Legs', so I thought I would enter these eight legs! Happy Friday! April x

Jar of Love

Hello! Card-making has taken a bit of a back-seat to Olympic viewing at the mo. However, there was a short break from all the excitement to make this card with the lovely Jar of Love stamp set (and Everyday Jars Framelits) I love this set! So much scope for a multitude of possible designs.

My colour combo was Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo, but I'm looking forward to using autumnal colours with these stamps. The dsp is from the 'A Little Foxy' paper stack. I hope you like it!

I'm sending my jar of flowers to Di and a certain bear at Pixie's Snippets Playground. Those flowers were surgically extracted from the tiniest micro-snippets known to man (or bear) :-)

Button Button

Hello! We are busy getting ready for Guide camp, but amidst all the last minute shopping I have made a card today. I've used an old SU stamp set called 'Button, Button'. I realised (probably years after everyone else) that the small button co-ordinates with the Owl Builder.

I have added a Baker's Twine bow because I made my card for Come and Get It Challenges where the theme is Buttons and Bows. I'm not sure Parsnip is very into buttons (I could be wrong), but this card is snippety, so it's also going to Pixie's Snippets Playground.

Finally, a completely irrelevant picture, but you might like to see Spot's face after he had just dangled his full weight off the curtain and pulled down the curtain rail for the third time...No remorse, just the sense of a job well done! Happy crafting! April x

52 CCT Colour Challenge

Hello! Here is my DT card for this week's challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown where we have a colour challenge for you -

A really lovely combination of colours to work with. I decided to use one of my favourite stamps - SU's Silent Night. I embossed the trees with pewter embossing powder and used some left-over pieces of dsp and cardstock. The sentiment is from Oh What Fun.

I hope you will join us and enjoy card-making with this cool and stylish colour combo! April x

52 CCT Stash Challenge

Here is my DT card for this week's challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown where we are using up some of our stash!

I have used an antique brad, combined with a Mint Macaron, Real Red and Smoky Slate colour combo. The stamped background uses a holly sprig from Tim Holtz's Christmas Memories and the sentiment is from SU's Oh What Fun.

We are looking forward to seeing your use of metal embellishments! Hope you will join us, April x

The Wilderness Awaits

I love this handsome guy! This is my first card made with SU's The Wilderness Awaits. There's a wonderful fox, dog and duck too. They are next on my list. I stamped the stag with Chocolate Chip ink and used Dazzling Details to highlight the rock. It is clear and glittery in real life - I have no idea why it looks green in this photo, but we can pretend it's moss! I added a left-over snippet of vellum and backed everything on a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock that I had embossed with the Boho Chic embossing folder. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes and was stamped on a piece of Bermuda Bay card.

Don't chase this stag Parsnip! I'm sending my card to Di and Sarn over at Pixie's Snippets Playground. Happy crafting! April x

Botanical Blooms

Here is my first card made with SU's Botanical Blooms framelits. I love all the leafy, flowery bits you get to mess around with! I made this card with a piece of Go Wild dsp, then cut the flowers from Blushing Bride and Real Red cardstock. There's some Blushing Bride glimmer paper there too. Some of the leaves and the card base are Smoky Slate and I used a piece of vellum - hence the slight wrinkly appearance in places! Lots of fun to make.

Sending these exotic blooms over to Di and Parsnip at Pixie's Snippets Playground and Crafting by Designs - anything goes. Happy crafting! April x

52 CCT Theme Challenge

Hello! Here is my DT card for this week's challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, where the theme this week is to make a card for a man. All the men I know have been happy with girly, glittery cards, so I am trying to imagine a rugged, action man here, with his jumble of skis, sledge and snow shoes!

I have used SU's Winter Wishes stamp set with a colour combo of Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Tip Top Taupe, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Early Expresso. There is also a silver spattering, courtesy of Gorgeous Grunge and some Old Olive baker's twine.

We do have a plastic sledge in the garage, but it hasn't ever really snowed enough to use it properly. I live in hope though!

I do hope that you will join us in our theme challenge this week, April x

I would like to enter my card in CHNC#247 - Something beginning with P...pinecones!

More Recycling

More recycling of brown paper today - this time using the fabulous Spiral Flower die. I sponged the edges of the flower with some Melon Mambo ink and added some Smoky Slate chevron ribbon, an antique brad and a stamp from the Postage Due set. I hope you like it!

Happy New Year

I hope you have had a lovely Christmas. This card is a sneak preview of Petal Parade, a gorgeous stamp set that is on its way for Sale-a-bration - a very exciting time of the year when you can get free exclusive Stampin' Up products with orders of £45. There are also additional hostess benefits if you host a party during this time. Sale-a-bration runs from 28th January to 31st March and is my favourite time in the SU calendar.

My congratulations card combines Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry cardstock with Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper. I have used two stamps from Petal Parade (there are five in the set), along with the Pansy and Boho Blossoms punches.
Here are some tulips in a vintage enamel coffee pot that always reminds me of Pool Party. My upcoming class dates will be following shortly, so please watch this space!

Mini Pizza Boxes

Such a busy old time lately with Halloween and Bonfire Night. It's been nice to get back to some crafting. Here is a mini pizza box made from Real Red and Tempting Turquoise card. I've used Snowflake Soiree with some silver embossing powder and silver glimmer paper. This is going to be filled with tea lights stamped with the smallest snowflake from that set.
Here's another one in Smoky Slate with a band made from Winter Frost DSP. This is a project I'm taking along to a training day tomorrow. Just a pasta salad to make tomorrow morning and then I think I'm just about organised...
Here is a card I have made for a FB swap. Bit of a Real Red and Tempting Turquoise theme going on with me at the moment! This is the Wishing You stamp set, with a flower made using the Boho Blossoms punch.
And finally a few tags! Hope you are having a lovely week x

Eastern Elegance Evening

We had a great time at the Eastern Elegance workshop last week. There was lots of card and gift bag making going on, broken up with tea and biscuit consumption, of course! The cats did their very best to 'help' everyone...

It is such a lovely set of papers that you can use for lots of different uses. Some of the Smoky Slate and Coastal Cabana papers actually look quite festive. Before the workshop, I had another go at making the gift bag as I thought I might have forgotten how to make it. This time I used the Bird Builder punch to make a more Christmassy version.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Eastern Elegance workshop

Come along to a workshop at my crafty abode on Wednesday, 9th October at 7pm. We will be making a gift bag, card and notelets using Stampin' Up's Eastern Elegance designer series papers. These lovely papers coordinate beautifully with Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana card stock. We will also be using the Mixed Bunch stamp set and Bitty Butterfly punch.

Do join us for a relaxed evening of crafting. Tea and biscuits included of course! Please message me to book a place.
