52 CCT Technique Challenge
Hello! We have a technique challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week. Our hostess Kaja would like you to have a go at watercolouring.
I made my rather splodgy card a while back at a demo team meeting. I think the colours are a combo of Blackberry Bliss and Tempting Turquoise, but the lovely die-cut is definitely from SU's retired Sleigh Ride Edgelits. I do hope that you will join us with your wonderful watercolour creations! April x

Cute Pony
Hello! I wasn't planning on making a card today, but felt inspired by the colour combo at Cupcake Inspirations (the cupcakes are quite inspiring too!)
So, I coloured this very cute pony with my Polychromos pencils! She is a digi from 2 Cute Ink and I like how she is looking down at the ladybird (a tiny touch of red!)
My pony is also trotting off to visit Di and Parsnip at Pixie's Snippets Playground as the dotty paper is a snippet forcibly dragged from Snippet Mountain today!
Happy Bank Holiday weekend! April x

52 CCT Theme Challenge
Hello! At 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week we have a theme challenge for you. Our hostess, Kaja has chosen Gifts as her theme.
I have used an old SU stamp set 'Wishing You' to create a little pile of gifts in Melon Mambo. The sentiment comes from 'Oh What Fun'. I've added some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, a couple of enamel dots and some Melon Mambo ribbon to finish things off.
I hope you'll visit us at 52CCT and be inspired by the creations of the design team. Have a crafty weekend, April x

Jar of Love
Hello! Card-making has taken a bit of a back-seat to Olympic viewing at the mo. However, there was a short break from all the excitement to make this card with the lovely Jar of Love stamp set (and Everyday Jars Framelits) I love this set! So much scope for a multitude of possible designs.
My colour combo was Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo, but I'm looking forward to using autumnal colours with these stamps. The dsp is from the 'A Little Foxy' paper stack. I hope you like it!
I'm sending my jar of flowers to Di and a certain bear at Pixie's Snippets Playground. Those flowers were surgically extracted from the tiniest micro-snippets known to man (or bear) :-)

52 CCT Colour Challenge
Hello! We have a colour challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week.
I have used a Stampendous stamp to create the star in Sahara Sand. I then stamped the sentiment from Oh What Fun over it. To finish the card off, I added some dsp, black Glimmer Paper stars and some Baker's Twine.
I hope to see you over there!

Button Button
Hello! We are busy getting ready for Guide camp, but amidst all the last minute shopping I have made a card today. I've used an old SU stamp set called 'Button, Button'. I realised (probably years after everyone else) that the small button co-ordinates with the Owl Builder.
I have added a Baker's Twine bow because I made my card for Come and Get It Challenges where the theme is Buttons and Bows. I'm not sure Parsnip is very into buttons (I could be wrong), but this card is snippety, so it's also going to Pixie's Snippets Playground.
Finally, a completely irrelevant picture, but you might like to see Spot's face after he had just dangled his full weight off the curtain and pulled down the curtain rail for the third time...No remorse, just the sense of a job well done! Happy crafting! April x

52 CCT Sketch Challenge
Hello! Over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week we have a sketch challenge for you. Our hostess Kaja has chosen this great design:
Now I have gone for trees, but there's no reason why you shouldn't change the elements. We just need to be able to recognise the sketch in your Christmas card.
I used the scribbly tree design from an old favourite - SU's Evergreen. The star stamp for the background is from the same set. I stamped the first tree in Old Olive and then left it for hours to ensure it wouldn't pick up any stray embossing powder from the second tree, which was stamped with Versamark and then embossed with copper embossing powder. I finished the card off with a strip of dsp and a couple of star sequins. I hope you like it!
We look forward to seeing your take on Kaja's sketch. Happy crafting! April x

A Terrarium
Hello! I love terrariums, so when I saw this set in the SU annual catalogue (Live, Love, Grow) I had to snaffle it. In fact, plants protected by glass would be a good idea round here, as girl cat loves to chew on them when she thinks I'm not looking. Here she is in action trying to destroy a mini Christmas tree. You can see the purposeful intent in that face, I think!! (such a lovely ratbag!)
This stamp set is great for lots of bits of interesting greenery and you can really go to town with different shades of green and various stamping techniques. In fact, they don't have to be green bits of greenery at all, as my second card shows! On this one, the soil is copper embossed but you can't really see that on the photo. I think my next card will aim to be a stylish combo of just copper and black.
I am sending my terrarium to Di and Parsley (in the vain hope that a certain bear won't nibble the leaves) at Pixie's Snippets Playground :-) Happy crafting! April x
